Welcome to Malta

In 1991, Sr. Angeline Bukowiecki and Sr. Jan Nattermann were invited by Fr. Anton Portelli in Attard to come to Malta and do the ACTS II Leadership Training for some 22 people. Sr. Jan and Sr. Angeline being welcomed by Fr. Portelli

Albert Galea, director for the ACTS II Process for the parish of Attard, Santa Maria Parish, shares with us the developments that have taken place since the ACTS II Leadership Training in 1991.

"In April 1992 the Parish opened the first School of Evangelization. The school equipped the participants with the necessary knowledge, skills and empowerment in Catholic Evangelization, as well as providing an experience of deeper, personal conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ. The school terminated its first experience with the Supervised Evangelistic Outreach which took place in the Parish between November 92 and February 93.
"Each year, thereafter, we have had a School of Evangelization and have seen the number of small groups increase and the number of people participating in the small groups grow in size and the permanent ongoing evangelistic outreach continues to take place..
"For the last three months now, October through December of 1997, we have been consolidating the ACTS II Process in Attard, restructuring the small groups. We now have 12 small groups (8 womens' groups and 4 mens' groups) with three Area Leaders. Some of the Women Pastoral Leaders for the ACTS II Process at Attard

"The population is around 120 adults including the Coordinators and the outreach continues from week to week as usual. The General Monthly Assembly has been revamped and was very successful in October and November. Our December Assembly took the form of a Christmas Party last Saturday and nearly 200 people and children attended for this function.
Everything considered, we are very happy with the way everything is proceeding. It is unfolding slowly just as it was designed to do."

We thank you, Albert, and the team of coordinators and small group leaders for all of the persevering efforts that are being made with the Acts II Process.

The ACTS II Process is being done exceptionally well in Attard and Santa Maria Parish is becoming a model parish for the Process.

In February of 1996, we were invited by Fr. Anton Cassar, pastor, to give the ACTS II Leadership Training to a team of coordinators at Christ the King Parish in Paola, Malta.
