The second key to answered prayer, (continuing from the November 2008 issue) is: FEEL GOD'S EMOTIONS. Any great cause must be bound together by a common emotion if it is to succeed, especially love which casts out fear. Read more on this in Sister Brigid's article in this issue.

When young David heard the challenge of the giant Goliath he felt the pain of the ridicule being heaped upon the armies of the Lord. He became indignant, and jealous for the Lord's honor. "You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand" (1 Samuel 17:45-46).

David's heart was filled with the feelings of God. There was no room for the fear that had immobilized the men of Israel. Our prayers lack power because so often, they revolve around and are immobilized by our own emotions. They do not reflect God's emotions.

So you may be thinking now: God has feelings? The Bible can clear away any doubt you may have. God is tenderhearted and compassionate; He is sorrowful; He grieves over His people; He gets angry; He hates sin.

If our prayers are to be answered, we must not only think with Him; we must feel with Him. This is our second key to answered prayer: Feel God's emotion.
