  My Witness

Vol. 4, No. 1, January, 1999

From the Editor
Sr. Jan Nattermann, S.N.C.

Sister Jan The power of prayer has been and continues to be the force that urges men and women to become saints. Sr. Angeline's article on "The Gift of the Holy Spirit and the Need For Prayer" gives us many examples and words from the Holy Father reminding us how prayer (or the lack of it) affects our evangelizing efforts as we work together with the Holy Spirit.

The Church has lived for 2000 years in the breath of the Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is the wind or the gentle breeze that keeps us moving in this work of evangelization. It is the Spirit who opens hearts to receive Good News and the Sprit who gives the evangelizer the words to speak and the heart to love the one he/she is evangelizing.

We pray for expectant faith that believes God will act in power during those God ordained appointments. We call on Him and expect the Spirit to prepare the way and bring many to know and experience Jesus as Savior and Lord of their lives.
