  My Witness

Vol. 10, No. 4, November, 2005

From the Editor
Sr. Jan Nattermann, S.N.C.

Sister Jan "'For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?' But we have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Have you noticed what shape you mind is in? That's right, I said your 'mind' not your body. Maybe one time you are anxious and worried. Another time you may be peaceful and calm. Sometimes do you believe in God and trust in him without any doubt and at other times, doubt is a constant threat?

So what is normal thinking? What's normal is calm, quiet, and serene. But so often one's mind is filled with worry, anxiety, fear, etc. If one's mind is anxious about many things, it will miss what the Lord is attempting to reveal through the Spirit. Just as I am responsible for my physical life, I, too, am responsible for my thought life. Many of our problems can be rooted in wrong thinking. Satan wants nothing better than to fight against the renewal of your mind. Why? Because your thinking holds the key to freedom and victory, won for us in Christ Jesus.

"Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect" (Romans 12:2).
